Someone - A government? An anti-Amaran group? - tries to use an implanted ricin capsule to control Earth's only known natural field user with the threat of death. After removing the capsule from Lori Mackenzie's jaw, Ed takes her into protective custody, introduces Lori to a level of power that makes her almost invulnerable, and teaches her to hone her skills by annihilating huge icebergs.
