The Lion's Gate draws on Aeschylus's famous ancient trilogy, the Orestia. It dramatises the effects of the war in Troy on those left behind in Mycenae, and shows how the war's impact echoes down the ages into the lives of some modern travellers who, during an self-imposed exile from their homes, are drawn to Greece and the Middle East, with fascinating and tragic results.
