1. Is the User Manual available in the device?
Sorry, the user manual for eSlick is not available in the device. To read the
instructions on how to use eSlick, please go to our website
www.foxitsoftware.com/ebook to download the user guide.
2. What languages does the device support?
So far, the eSlick device menus are only available in English. However eSlick
does allow you to read any document or eBook written in any language.
3. How can I create my own PDF files?
The software that comes with the box - Foxit PDF Creator- helps you to create
your own PDF files from your favorite applications.
To create your own PDF files, please follow these steps:
• Install Foxit PDF Creator on to your computer.
• Open the files you want to read -> select "File"->
"Print"to print this document.
• In the pop-up "Print"dialog box, select "Foxit PDF
Printer"-> "Properties"-> select the "Fonts"tab
-> choose the "Embed all fonts"-> click "OK."Do not
forget to check this option to make sure the document will be correctly
reproduced by the eSlick.
• Click the "Print"button to convert this file to PDF format.
• Read the converted PDF with eSlick. Click
here for details on transferring files from the computer to the
eSlick.
4. How long should it take to get familiar with eSlick?
eSlick has a simple and neat user interface with well organized menus and
buttons. In general, first time eSlick users will become familiar with eSlick
within 1 or 2 days. To learn more about the eSlick device, please refer to
eSlick User Manual for details.
5. What software is
included in the package if any?
There are four popular Foxit products included in the CD packed with eSlick:
Foxit PDF Creator (worth $29.99) allows users to convert any printable document into PDF by just a click of the mouse (using the print menu). It is free for eSlick users.
Foxit Reader Pro Pack (worth $39), a small PDF document viewer with extremely easy-to-use features such as creating annotations, and is also free for eSlick users.

Foxit PDF Editor, the first and still the only "REAL"editor for PDF files, allows you to easily and efficiently change content in any existing PDF file. This is a trial version.
Foxit PDF Page Organizer, a small application that allows you to split and merge PDF files, rearrange pages, organize bookmarks, add annotations and create links. This is a trial version.
6. Can I connect eSlick to my PC?
Yes, you can connect eSlick to your PC via the provided USB cable. eSlick can
be connected to a Windows PC, Mac, or Linux.
Please note: If
an SD card has been inserted into eSlick, two Removable Disks (one is for the
eSlick device while the other one is for the SD card) will appear on your computer.
Moreover, while your device is connected to your computer, its battery is
charging and eSlick is not operable.
7. Is eSlick Mac compatible?
Yes.
8. What sort of data can I transfer between eSlick and my PC?
All kinds of file data can be transferred between eSlick and your PC as long as
eSlick's system memory and the storage space on the SD card have enough space
available.
9. What are the formats that eSlick supports?
eSlick supports EPUB, eReader, PDF, TXT, mp3 and many image formats like GIF, BMP, JPEG, and PNG. And with the use of Foxit PDF Creator from the eSlick box, users can convert any printable document to PDF, which can then be viewed on eSlick.
10. Can I change a book's font size and how do I do that?
You can click on the "Menu"button on the left side of the eSlick and
select the "Zoom to"option for resizing a page when the option menu
pops up. In the reflow mode, you can adjust the font size by selecting the
"Font Size"option. When you are reading .TXT files on the eSlick, you
can change the font size via the "+/- "button on the right side of
the eSlick.
11. How do I listen to MP3 music files?
Press the "Music"button on the left side of the eSlick to get into
the MP3 files, then press the "Navigation"button either
"Up"or "Down"to select the song you prefer, and then click
"OK"to play the song.
12. Can I listen to MP3 files while reading eBooks on eSlick?
Yes, press the first "Music"button on the left side of eSlick to get
into the MP3 files, select the song you prefer and click the
"OK"button. Then press the "Return"button in the main menu
and open the file that you want to read. This will allow you to enjoy your MP3 files
while reading eBooks on eSlick.
13. Foxit Reader appears to be broken or locked up, what shall I do?
Use something sharp such as a pen to press the "Reset"button on the
back side of eSlick, this will reset the device (Note that resetting the device
will not change the settings you did previously). Press the
"Power"button again to turn the device on. Feel free to contact us if
you still have problems.
14. Is it possible to upgrade the device's firmware?
Yes, it is. Foxit will work on improving and upgrading eSlick's software. The
information on the software update will be published on our website soon, so
users can feel free to update eSlick software on their side.
15. Do I have to worry about copyright issues?
For the eSlick application software, Foxit developed this independently and
customers who purchased eSlick can use them without copyright issues. For
content however, any content uploaded to eSlick by the end user is the end
user's responsibility. eBooks can be downloaded free or purchased from the
Internet.
16. What does "reflow"mean?
Reflow is a feature that automatically reorganizes text to fit the screen size
when you are viewing a PDF file. It makes reading on mobile devices much
easier, and you do not have to scroll from left to right to read.
17. What does the "fit content"mean?
Fit content means resizing the page to fit its content. We resize the whole PDF
page to fit the eSlick screen. So, if page margins in a PDF file are too big
and the content in it is displayed smaller, we can shrink the page to fit its
content thus making it easier for users to read.

1. What type of screen does the device use?
eSlick uses the E-Ink Vizplex screen with 600 x 800 pixel resolution, 4-level
gray scale.

3. What is the size of the device?
eSlick is 7.4" x 4.7" x 0.4" (188x118x9.2mm) in dimensions.
4. How heavy is eSlick?
eSlick weighs 6.4 ounces, 180g (battery included).
5. Is it fragile?
Yes, it is. Please handle it with care.
6. What is the optimal environment condition for eSlick use?
Operate eSlick between 0 and 40 o C. Avoid direct sunlight and dithering. Avoid
high temperature and wet places.
7. Which buttons are available on the device?
There are 9 buttons available on eSlick -"ON/OFF," "Up,"
and "Down," "Right," "Left," "Enter,"
"Delete," "Menu," and "Music."
8. Which cards are suitable for use with eSlick? eSlick supports SD cards.
9. Is eSlick compatible with SDHC cards?
Yes, but not all. Foxit recommends using Kingston SDHC cards(up to 4GB).
10. What kind of battery is used by
eSlick?
The battery used by eSlick is a rechargeable lithium-battery.
11. How long does eSlick work without recharging?
At optimal conditions, a single battery charge provides up to approximately
8,000 pages of continuous reading or up to 6-7 hours of continuous music play.
The standby time for eSlick is around 20 days. eSlick does not use power while
displaying a page, but uses power when an image is changed.
12. How much light do I need in order to read the content on eSlick?
You need to provide sufficient light to read eBooks on the eSlick as you would
normally require reading printed books, newspaper and magazines.

1. How much memory does a 200-page
book, text only, usually take up? What about images?
A 200-page book with text only usually takes up about 7-8MB of memory. A
200-page book that has images only takes up about 40MB of memory.
2.How do I copy eBooks, documents, magazines or MP3 files to the eSlick?
There are two ways to do this.
One way is to put your SD card into a device or computer that has an SD card slot. Your device will show one removable disk for SD card and you can copy all eBooks, documents, magazines and/or MP3 files to your SD card.
The other way is to connect eSlick to a computer via the provided USB cable. Your device will show one removable disk for the eSlick device and you can copy all eBooks, documents, magazines and/or MP3 files directly from your computer to eSlick.
3. How much do eBooks cost compared to printed books?
Each publisher has its own pricing information for eBooks. Generally speaking,
the prices for printed books are around 3 to 5 times higher than eBooks.
4. How do I convert documents to a PDF? What software do I use?
Please use the Foxit PDF Creator from the eSlick package you received. Complete
the installation of Foxit PDF Creator on your computer, click on the
"Print"button in the application, and select the "Foxit PDF
Printer"to print out your document and save the created PDF to a specific

1. Do I need to pay tax in the
United States?
If you are in California, you pay the state tax. If you are out of state, we do
not impose tax. For overseas customers, they are not taxed in the U.S. but they
may have to shoulder import taxes levied by their specific country.
2. Where do we ship?
We ship to every country except Cuba, Iran, Syria and North Korea.
3. How much does it cost?
Actual shipping charges are calculated at checkout, but you can check the rates using "Check shipping rates" in your shopping cart, once you have a device or accessory in your cart.
4. How do we ship?
For US domestic shipments, customers will expect to receive eSlicks by UPS Ground Service in about one week. For international shipment, customers will expect to receive their eSlicks by UPS Worldwide Expedited in about one week.

based on the availability of the items and the shipping options you choose.

Return Policy
1. What is the return policy?
• You may only return your eSlick and receive a full refund if it is in mint condition with original packaging and accessories and if it is returned within 30 days of delivery.
• We will send you a RMA number. Please put this RMA number in the package when you return the devices.
• We will not accept C.O.D. or third party billing for returned merchandise.
• In case of shipping damages, please contact the carrier or our Customer Care Department at 1-866 MY FOXIT.
• You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 30 days of receipt of returned product. Shipping costs will not be refunded.
2. How long does it take to receive my refund?
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper; however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes for us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes for your bank to process our refund request (see below for specific guidelines). We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
