In the third book of the Hawkman Series, Hawkman gets involved in the case of Richard, a seventeen-year-old deaf boy who is suspected of murdering his mother and dog. When Richard returns home after a motorcycle ride in the hills around Copco Lake, he find his mother and dog murdered. He sets out to avenge her death. This proves to be a dangerous undertaking and Richard doesn't realize that it is his life that might be added to his mother's.
