A science fiction novel situated on our planet in the near future. Its story projects a fantasy of great promises, but also of great agonies that must remain forever in the world of fiction. In the story two elements unfold intertwined in a superlative romance and a political tragedy on a vast scale that begins in Siberia. In the background stands an advanced concept of science that appears as much out of place as if it had come from a different planet. The novel is the seventh in the eight part epic series, The Lodging for the Rose. In the series the focus has shifted at this point. It takes one beyond the principle of universal love to the scientific recognition of the universal marriage of humanity, the reality of our being. The story though, presents opposite testimony. When love challenges greed, wealth, and the citadels of power, one often finds the sword brandished that cuts deep to snuff out the spark of love before it becomes a fire that may sweep the world. Human history is littered with such swords. Still, as the novel develops, it becomes increasingly a testament in defense of its scientific postulate that we are all human beings and share one common humanity and one common universal human Soul.
