A candidate for Princess is murdered at a Native American Pow Wow while Tempe Crabtree is working there in her capacity as deputy. Tempe's investigation takes her into the Yanduchi reservation, and her husband, Hutch, has difficulty with Tempe's growing interest in her own native heritage as she seeks the identity of the killer.
