Her bad day just got a whole lot better. Cadence is disillusioned with her job at Veritas Magazine, and dissatisfied with her life in general. After a frustrating meeting with her editor she decides to take the rest of the day off. In the coffee shop downstairs she has a brief, but memorable encounter with a gorgeous man, and on learning that he will be attending a club on his own that night, she decides to put in an appearance. There is an instant attraction and immediate connection between Cadence and Tobias, and they spend a thrilling night together.
