Giovanni Gambino

Bio: Giovanni Gambino was born in the province of Palermo in Sicily and grew up in Torretta, located in a mountainous area overlooking Palermo, where, as a youngster, he heard some of the "folklore" described in The Prince of Omerta from Gambino relatives and friends. He is the youngest in a family that included four sisters and a brother. His family moved to the neighborhood known as Bensonhurst in southwestern Brooklyn in 1985 where he continued to be regaled by the stories he has written about in his novel. He is also working on a movie script and has a pilot for a reality show. A construction worker, he is married and has two children.
