Bio: Author Ellen Larson based her story on the legend of Prometheus, who, according to the Greek myth, gave science and writing to humankind. Her "Author's Apology," included in the book, provides a review of Prometheus in art and literature. Ellen Larson went to college in Vermont, lived in upstate New York for a while, spent a few years in London, England, and has been in Cairo, Gypt since 1989.
