Terence J. Sacks

Bio: Terence J. Sacks is an independent writer-editor with more than twenty-five years' experience in communications. During that period he has written dozens of news stories, magazine articles, and speeches. Sacks's articles have appeared in such publications as Hospitals and Chicago Medicine.

Sacks, a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, has strong credentials in the field of health care. For three years, from 1970 through 1973, he was director of communications for the Chicago Medical Society, the local professional group for physicians in Chicago and Cook County. He has also held positions in communications for the American Osteopathic Association, the American Association of Dental Schools, and for several hospitals in Chicago.

Sacks is currently on the journalism faculty of Columbia College in Chicago, where he teaches "Introduction to the Mass Media." At Columbia he has also taught courses in news reporting, feature writing, editing company publications, and the history of journalism.

For more than a decade, Sacks has headed his own writing and communications firm, Terence J. Sacks Associates. He is active in the Independent Writers of Chicago (where he served on the board), the American Medical Writers Association, and the Publicity Club of Chicago.
