Bio: James White has been a mainstay of hard SF since his first sale in 1953.
A great deal of his work has been concerned with future medicine, most

Major Operation, Ambulance Ship, Sector General, Star Healer, Code
Blue--Emergency, The Genocidal Healer, The Galactic Gourmet, and

All Judgement Fled, Dark Inferno, The Dream Millennium, Underkill,
and The Silent Stars Go By.
