Barry Tomkins grew up in England and later moved to the United States. Since 1980 he has been teaching writing and lterature, including Science Fiction, at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, New Jersey. He has recently begun writing science fiction set in the 24th century, in an imaginary region struggling to remake itself after the overthrow of a repressive religious regime.
