Bio: Julie Laing BA (History Major) is a writer of children's historical fiction and non-fiction. She is the mother of four girls: Gemma, Kate, Tess and Amelia ranging in age from 8 to 17. She writes and researches as she commutes by train to Sydney from the Central Coast. In her stories she aims to convey a sense of what it would have been like living day to day in other eras and is especially fascinated by Ancient history and the Roman and Greek periods. Julie Laing has spent many hours encouraging readers in her daughter's primary school and enjoys playing and listening to music with her family in any spare time she has.
