Bio: Born in 1929, Edward Enfield read Classics at Oxford University before completing his National Service in Germany. He settled in West Sussex and worked for the County Council. He has worked on Watchdog, Points of View, BBC Holiday, and Oldie TV. As well as his regular column in The Oldie magazine, he has written for The Daily Mail, The Express, Radio Times, The Telegraph and The Guardian.

He is married with four children, one of whom is the comedian Harry Enfield.
