Bio: TIM WOODROOF follows an almost genetic call to preach. Both his father and grandfather were in the ministry. Altogether, the three of them share over 125 years of preaching experience. Tim has served churches in Nebraska, Oregon, and Nashville, Tennessee. He has written two other books for NavPress (Among Friends: You Can Help Make Your Church a Warmer Place and Walk This Way: An Interactive Guide to Following Jesus) and is the author of numerous programs for adult education in churches.
Tim did his graduate work in psychology and theology, receiving an M.S. in clinical psychology (from Texas A&M University) and a Ph.D. in community and human resources (University of Nebraska). He narrowly avoided being awarded an M.Th. from the Harding Graduate School of Religion in Memphis by virtue of being so tired of school he could not bring himself to write another thesis.

Though Tim speaks for functions around the country, his primary love is the local church. In 1998, he and his family moved to Nashville to work with the Otter Creek Church. He and Julie have three (mostly) adorable children - Sarah, James, and Jonathan. Tim has notified us that he is booking speaking engagements only in places close to blue-ribbon trout streams.
